Why are Americans so comfortable with their hypocrisy? What is it about american culture?. Why is there no movement to decriminalize Marijuana.  I'm mean look at it,  Millions of people use it, its out there, everybody knows it, most people turn a blind eye to it, every once and a while there's a bust and we all shrug our shoulders and go on...  we seem to be so comfortable with this hypocrisy we know its out there and we can't control it and we know it, but its illegal and we aren't going to do anything about it. Where does that come from??

Our culture likes Black & White pronoucements and don't like to examine nuances. To address the situation we should have to say sometimes its bad and sometimes its not, we kind of have to weigh the whole situation and look at it. But we don't want to do that, so we say its bad but we do it anyways, so that way you don't really have to examine anything. Officially we want it to be illegal, really nobody should be doing this, ignore the fact that people are... and just let it be illegal and let it destroy some peoples lives once in a while in a drug bust.

Which really this is all based on Fear.
People think if drugs were decriminalized everyone would be fucked up on drugs all the time. That simply is just not true. Drugs are already out there. If you or I wanted to get fucked up we could, easily.
(merely go out to the street or call some peeps- and they'd hook you up- its not that difficult. Your kids probablly know someone if they're in Jr. high and up (even grade school maybe)) and yet I'm not Fucked up on drugs all the time because i don't want to be.

But people think they need to make choices for you and be very black and white.. BECAUSE No one is capable of making free choice.
